Brazoria County Libraries Resume Regular Hours Oct. 13

As part of the next phase toward normailization, beginning on Tuesday, October 13, Brazoria County Libraries will resume their regular hours.

Building occupancy is also increasing depending on the size and physical layout of each building. There will still be a limited number of public computers available in order to maintain social distancing. Some study rooms and study tables will be made available with one-hour time limits and limited seating as part of this next phase.

Please consult the individual branch library Facebook page or the Brazoria County Library System webpage for branch hours:

Message from BCLS Director

We are pleased to announce that the introduction of curbside service at all our branches has been wonderfully received by our patrons. As we continue our plans to normalize service, we hope that curbside pick-up will continue to be a popular and easy way for you to connect with the library. We are now ready to reopen our branches, but with reduced services and hours.

To help maintain social distancing guidelines and provide service to the largest possible number of patrons, the branches will be offering material check-out and limited access to public computers only. Reading and study areas will not be available to the public and all interactive games and activities will be temporarily removed from our children’s and teen areas.

We know many of you have been looking forward to visiting your library and hope for the quickest possible return to normal activities. Our library staff is equally excited to get back to normal, but – as of now – too many factors remain unknown, so we will start our public services slowly.

Our patrons have been wonderfully supportive throughout this ordeal and we cannot express how much we appreciate your patience and cooperation. Please bear with us while we work out ways to keep our branches as safe and healthy as possible for both the public and the staff and know that we, too, are looking forward to the time when we can confidently resume full and complete public service.

As always, please let us know if you have questions or concerns.

BCLS Director
